We are proud to be a part of a very strong tradition of high school singing in the city of Sioux Falls and in the state of South Dakota. Jefferson Choir Department is a place for anyone who loves to sing, to dance, and to be part of the family that we create. Choir will always be a community that is welcoming to all.

2026-2027 Offerings

• Concert Choir (an advanced curricular choir - auditioned SATB)
• Independence (an advanced curricular choir with a Vocal Jazz emphasis - auditioned SSAA)
• Chorale (a curricular choir - auditioned SA grades 10-12 and TB grades 9-12)
• Aurora (a curricular treble choir - SA grades 9-12)
• Declaration (an auditioned Vocal Jazz Ensemble - SATB)
• Legacy (an auditioned, competitive show choir - SATB)
• Revelry (an auditioned, competitive show choir - SSA)

Curricular choirs will participate in 4 concerts each year and Large Group Contest. All choir students will be given the opportunity to participate in Solo/Small Ensemble Contest. Concert Choir & Independence will have rotational travel trip every other year and perform at graduation each spring and additional performances may be added.

The music and theatre departments will work together to produce a musical each year. 

Optional opportunities that will also be offered:

• All State Chorus (by audition from Advanced Choirs)
• SD Senior Honor Choir (by audition for 10-11 grade students)
• SD Junior Honor Choir (by audition for 9th grade students)
• All State Show Choir (by audition from Show Choirs)
